That is, first, combine the craft beauty of lanterns with literature, technology, fine arts, and garden art, and maintain the artistic characteristics of the lantern festival; In the virtuous circle of promoting trade through culture; thirdly, combine the lantern festival with strengthening the construction of spiritual civilization, continuously stimulate the enthusiasm of the people to love the motherland and build their hometown, and actively strive to improve the quality of the people; The combination of exhibition and outreach enables the lantern fair to continuously absorb the experience of its brother cities, expand external publicity while improving itself, and open up a new world of lantern art; Combining with all-people lighting, the lighting trade work can progress steadily on the road of being organized, managed, regularized and scientific.
In addition, Zigong City has built the China Lantern Museum in Zigong City Lantern Park with self-raised funds. All works have been completed. The museum has a total construction area of 5,892 square meters, and the exhibition of the entire Lantern Museum was completed in 1993. Eight of the pavilions will collect and display various representative lanterns from ancient and modern China and abroad: first, the special prize and first prize lantern quality products awarded by each lantern festival of Zigong Lantern Festival; second, different local characteristics and different schools across the country The essence of colorful lanterns; the third is the collection of colorful lanterns with exotic flavors and national traditions from all over the world; the fourth is the actual lanterns and models of various dynasties and different historical periods that reflect the history of the Chinese people's long-standing colorful lanterns. We also hope to receive domestic and foreign experts and brother cities to choose and send lamps and lanterns exhibitions with local characteristics, so that the museum integrates the knowledge, interest and entertainment of lantern art, and becomes a vivid epitome of Chinese and foreign "lantern culture". The Chinese nation, which has a long and ancient cultural history, adds another splendor.
Under the care and guidance of the leaders of the Central External Propaganda Group and the Central Propaganda Department, and under the direct advocacy of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Zigong City established the "Zigong Lantern Art Association" in October 1988. A number of professionals with certain attainments in the art of lanterns regularly discuss and study the art of lanterns, and organize relevant personnel to visit and study in various places to continuously enrich and improve the artistic level. From February 25th to 28th, 1991, when the "Third International Dinosaur Lantern Fair" was held in Zigong City, 15 cities nationwide lantern art symposiums were held.
Representatives from sister cities such as Guangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, Shijiazhuang, Yichang, Harbin, Zhenjiang, Liuzhou, Wuxi, Wuhan, Lanzhou, Dalian, Mianyang and Chengdu attended the symposium. The conference exchanged the experience of holding the lantern festival, and discussed how to make better use of the lantern art to contribute more to the promotion of national culture. Representatives from Guangzhou, Wuhan, Wuxi and other cities who attended the meeting proposed the establishment of the "National Lantern Art Association". meeting".
The purpose is to further expand horizontal exchanges, make up for each other's joint exhibitions, enrich the cultural connotation of lanterns, and make active preparations for the establishment of the "Chinese Lantern Art Association".
